Preschool Classes

For ages 3-5, little ones can work as a team with Mom, Dad, Grandma or Uncle! Little hands will create wonders in art the 3rd Monday of the month. All supplies included.

Take me to the Beach  (Grades K-2)

An under the sea adventure in water colors, assemblage and sand painting. Ocean swirls and bubbly fish inspire sea creatures in a watery world. Colored sand makes a textured shore. A seashell collage frame finishes the look. Learn watercolor techniques with a beachy flair.

Are you a VanGogh... Monet, Picasso or maybe Dali? We'll take personality tests to see which artist we are most like, then paint our own rendition of their most famous works. Painting Now  (Adults & Youth ages 12 & up) with Steve Roselles

Maybe not quite instant, but really quick. Learn the "alla prima" method of painting from local talent, Steve Roselles. Alla prima means “in the first” and is a direct fast approach for capturing the moment. Don't hem and haw, get it done in a day. This oil class is for beginners and continuing students alike. First impressions of your art are crucial to your success. Photographer and professor Steve Babbitt will instruct this one day seminar on the ins and outs of photographing your work to help you put your best foot forward. Learn the best techniques for shooting your work both digitally and with film. Class will cover primarily 2-D artwork and briefly cover issues with shooting 3-D art. Ceramics / Painting Open Studio  (Adults & Youth ages 12 & up)

New open studio features! Open studio punch cards are available to Dahl students and community artists for use of pottery wheels, kiln firings, easel use, supply and wet canvas storage. New slab roller for clay building and new mat cutter usage (qualified users only—see “Matting Madness”). Five day cards are available for $25 and good for six months. (Included free with select classes. Members of the Dahl receive one free extra 5 day punch card for every class signup that offers one.)
